Public Leadership Community

Overall, the Scholars and Public Leadership Program offered me many different life lessons and leadership theories that will stick with me for a long time. However, the best takeaway from the program...the community.

The Public Leadership community is one of the warmest and most inspiring communities I have ever seen. Stemming from Professor Washburn and Kelly, the environment is quickly established as one that is safe, yet which you can challenge each other and yourself. Meanwhile, the students within the program are all extremely high caliber people with a passion for challenging themselves in a way that creates a motivating environment. Finally, the genuineness and openness within the community allows for legitimate relationships to be built. In no other class are my classmates less my classmates and more my friends.
