LEADERSHIP IN LIFE
Leadership is an important topic that can manifest itself in many different ways throughout your daily life. In my own life, the leadership traits I have learned come into effect all the time. Whether, it be knowing when to be heard on my apartment mates about paying rent, or when to empathize with my fraternity brother who missed a catch in the football game, leadership appears throughout my daily life. I feel proud of the growth I have had as a leader and subsequently as a person and attribute much of it to this class.

One particular leadership attribute that I found extremely useful was leading through empowerment. I often play pickup basketball with my friends at Eppley. In fact, we played so much that we decided to enter an intermural basketball league. We did fairly well throughout the season, but managed a late playoff run and made it to the semifinals. I feel confident this change in our performance was correlated to me reacting one particular teammates misses with words of encouragement. He quickly transformed from scared to shoot, to our best shooter and I think that was legitimately correlated to leading through empowering him.
